Swiss Tap Dance Championship

Approximately 250 tap dancers will participate in different age categories in this year's edition of the Swiss Tap Dance Championship. The will compete in the following categories: Solo, Duo, Trio, Small Group, Formation, Vintage Routine, Cutting Contest und Open Cup. An international jury will rate the performances and decide who will be qualified for the next World Championship in Prague (CZ).

LOCATION

2026 the championship will be held for the second time in the Salle de spectacles de Chisaz in Crissier (VD). The event is organized by SwissTap in partnership with the school Planet Dance Martin.

Starting permission

Anyone who is an active member of SwissTap at the time of registration and has paid the annual membership fee is eligible to participate.

Costs

Every person participating needs a licence of CHF 10.- to the SwissIDO in order to be allowed to compete.
Every person participating needs to pay per Swiss Championship a starting fee of CHF 35.-, no matter of the amount of categories he/she is competing in.
These contributions help to finance the Swiss Championships.

Registration

Registration is carried out by the dance schools on the SwissIDO platform until August 9th (link).

Jury

The jury consists of seven top-class tap dancers from across Europe.
